LA to ER

This past week has been a bit of a challenge. When my boss told me a few months ago that I was going to be in LA for a week long training, I was ecstatic!  But then when it came down to leaving my baby girl, the tears and anxiety rolled in. I ended up having a great time, but it was hard not to miss my little family every second of the day. I had every intention of taking along one of Charlotte's favorite stuffed animals as a photo prop for my journey. But as you can see, I did not do very well with remembering to use it!

While in LA I visited: China Town - Hollywood Blvd- Venice Beach - Fashion District/Santee Alley.
I also was able to do a Hollywood by Night tour, which I highly recommend to anyone touring the area. It was four hours long and we saw- Hollywood Blvd, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, hiked a hill to get the best view of the Hollywood sign, stalked celebrity homes such as Christina Agulera, Tom Cruise, Simone Cowell, etc. We went by sites of celebrity deaths like Janis Joplin, Micheal Jackson, and Notorious BIG. Stopped at the Farmers Market and Grove for dinner and shopping. And we also stopped by the Observatory  for a GREAT view of the city at night. Well worth it.

And now comes the second part of the blog title. Poor Charlie took quite the fall on Friday. I was so anxious to get home to kiss her boo-boo. She bumped her head, but somehow it bruised her eye so bad it swelled shut! Saturday morning I called the Dr. first thing. We were only there for a few minutes when they referred us to the ER. We were all so worried about her, but after a CT scan, we were relieved that nothing was fractured and there was no evidence of any damage besides the major swelling. This picture is really hard to look at, but I assure she is not in any pain and she is right back to climbing around like a little monkey. Toddlers never seem to learn their lesson!!

I wish I had a few more days to spend every second with Charlie before I go back to work :(  On the agenda for this month is potty training!! We gave it a go a few weeks ago just to see how she would do and I think with some time and dedication she is going to pick up very quickly. I think the key to success will be 1.) lots of Gatorade 2.) potty prizes!! Please send any other advice my way.
